Which size rebounder do you need?
Rebounders come in three families. The right one depends on who is using it and where.
4 × 4.5 ft — one or two players, a backyard
Tall enough to return fly balls, narrow enough to fit a side yard and a garage when folded. This is the size for a player or two working at home, and it is what FLYNX makes. Space to plan for: about 15 ft of run-up for grounders and 30–40 ft for fly balls and throwing.
5 × 4 ft — wider and lower, multi-sport first
The wider, shorter face suits volleyball passing and soccer more than fly-ball work. If baseball or softball is the main use, the taller face is the better fit.
7 × 7 ft and up — team nets
Wide enough for a coach to feed a full infield from one spot. Heavy, slow to move, and more than a backyard needs. A team running stations does better with two or three smaller nets than one large one.
Ages
The 4 × 4.5 ft face works from about age seven, with a soft ball and an adult throwing, through high school and adult use. They grow; the distances and the ball change with them, and the net stays the same.
